General Account Settings
The major purpose of General Account settings is to modify/edit general information of Facebook Account. User can access General Account settings through “Account Settings” . From General Account Settings , one can be able to change or get Facebook username, change password, email address, networks and language. Even user can change their name too.
These are the features and uses of General Account Settings. Through General Account Settings, one can simply download the data of oneself.
Facebook Security Settings
The major part and the most important part of Facebook is Security. We can hear that many of Facebook Account has been hacked and the major reason is lack of security. If we know about the Facebook Security, and the way, it will be hard for third person to access our account and modify them.
Secure Browsing: Always enable this setting. This setting will encrypt all sent data to Facebook. This option is best to secure your data specially when you are in wireless connection or public network.
Login Notifications: Most of us keep this setting disable, but for the better security it’s important to enable by checking one of the options whether Email or text message. After enabling this feature, you will be notified whenever you use any devices or computer that you haven’t used before.
Login Approvals : Whenever you tried to login account from any unknown devices or the computer that you haven’t used before, Facebook will ask for the security code to access the account. This can be done if you enable this setting. As per security view, if third person try to access your account, even if they know the account password, they can’t access your account until and unless they provide security code.
App Passwords: Using app passwords can help to keep Facebook Password safe and secure. This is useful if you have turned on Login Approvals.
Recognized Device: If you use only one computer to use Facebook then this is the best method to secure your Facebook account. Once you enable this option, you will be logged in from only recognized devices. Login attempts from unrecognized devices will result SMS from Facebook with unique code to verify yourself.
Active Sessions: Through this section, if you found any unfamiliar location or devices you can “End Activity” the sessions.
